Open passage
He bore her on in rapid flight,
Open passage
And not a friend appeared in sight.
Open passage
But on a hill that o'er the wood
Open passage
Raised its high top five monkeys stood.
Open passage
From her fair neck her scarf she drew,
Open passage
And down the glittering vesture flew.

Open passage
Seat of Lord Varuṇ's ancient reign,
Open passage
Controller of the eternal main.
Open passage
The angry waves were raised and tossed
Open passage
As Rávaṇ with the lady crossed,
Open passage
And fish and snake in wild unrest
Open passage
Showed flashing fin and gleaming crest.
Open passage
Then from the blessed troops who dwell
Open passage
In air celestial voices fell:
