Open passage
Full well he knows, great Kuśik's son,
Open passage
The arms celestial, every one,
Open passage
Arms from the Gods themselves concealed,
Open passage
Far less to other men revealed.
Open passage
These arms to him, when earth he swayed,
Open passage
Mighty Kriśáśva, pleased, conveyed.
Open passage
Kriśáśva's sons they are indeed,
Open passage
Brought forth by Daksha's lovely seed,146
Open passage
Heralds of conquest, strong and bold,
Open passage
Brilliant, of semblance manifold.
Open passage
Jayá and Vijayá, most fair,
Open passage
And hundred splendid weapons bare.
Open passage
Of Jayá, glorious as the morn,
Open passage
First fifty noble sons were born,
Open passage
Boundless in size yet viewless too,
Open passage
They came the demons to subdue.
Open passage
And fifty children also came
Open passage
Of Vijayá the beauteous dame,
Open passage
Sanháras named, of mighty force,
Open passage
Hard to assail or check in course.
Open passage
Of these the hermit knows the use,
Open passage
And weapons new can he produce.
Open passage
All these the mighty saint will yield
Open passage
To Ráma's hand, to own and wield;
Open passage
And armed with these, beyond a doubt
Open passage
Shall Ráma put those fiends to rout.
Open passage
For Ráma and the people's sake,
Open passage
For thine own good my counsel take,
Open passage
Nor seek, O King, with fond delay,
Open passage
The parting of thy son to stay.”
