Open passage
And say we giants have devoured
Open passage
The princes whom our might o'erpowered.
Open passage
Then let the joyful tidings spread
Open passage
That Raghu's royal sons are dead.
Open passage
To all around thy pleasure show,
Open passage
Gold, pearls, and precious robes, bestow.
Open passage
Gay garlands round the portals twine,
Open passage
Enjoy the banquet and the wine.
Open passage
Then go, the scornful lady seek,
Open passage
And woo her when her heart is weak.
Open passage
Rich robes and gold and gems display,
Open passage
And gently wile her grief away.
Open passage
Then will she feel her hopeless state,
Open passage
Widowed, forlorn, and desolate;
Open passage
Know that on thee her bliss depends,
Open passage
Far from her country and her friends;
Open passage
Then, her proud spirit overthrown,
Open passage
The lady will be all thine own.”
