Open passage
From Ráma's hand the death he sought
Open passage
With strong desire to gain:
Open passage
And thus the rover of the night
Open passage
Told Ráma, as they strove in fight,
Open passage
That swords might rend and arrows smite
Open passage
Upon his breast in vain.
Open passage
Thus Ráma, when his speech he heard,
Open passage
The giant's mighty form interred,
Open passage
Which mortal arms defied.
Open passage
With thundering crash the giant fell,
Open passage
And rock and cave and forest dell
Open passage
With echoing roar replied.
Open passage
The princes, when their task was done
Open passage
And freedom from the peril won,
Open passage
Rejoiced to see him die.
Open passage
Then in the boundless wood they strayed,
Open passage
Like the great sun and moon displayed
Open passage
Triumphant in the sky.410
